This Psychology Month, let’s consider anxiety in greater depth to provide clarity on when and if you need to seek professional help. In addition, counselling can help with everyday worries.

Panic

Panic disorder refers to recurrent, unexpected panic attacks (heart palpitations, sweating, trembling). A panic attack is a sudden feeling of intense fear or discomfort that peaks within minutes. It includes stressful physical and cognitive symptoms as well as behavioural signs. Many psychological treatments, such as relaxation training, meditation, biofeedback and stress management, can help with panic disorder.
